What kind of person is Jushirou Ukitake?

Jushirou Ukitake is a male Soul Reaper with long white hair and is the captain of the 13th division. When he was a child, he suffered from severe pneumonia, and it seems that his hair turned white at that time. He is in sync with Kyouraku Shunsui and Unohana and was trained with them. He has a theory that there are two types of battles, "fights to protect lives" and "fights to protect pride", and believes that those who put themselves in battle must continue to identify them.

Ukitake excels in the amount of Reiatsu among the Thirteen Court Guard Squads because he controlled with Reiatsu to cure his disease. Also, since he was prone to illness and didn't participate in many battles, he was well versed in medicine and there were scenes where he was properly treating.

About Ukitake's Zanpakutou

Shikai：Sougyo no Kotowari(双魚理)

When his Zanpakutou is activated, his single sword becomes two, making him a dual-wielding swordsman. His name is Sougyo no Kotowari (双魚理) and Kanji means Twin fish rule. Triger command is ”Be my sword like the waves, be my sword like the thunder.（波悉く我が盾となれ 雷悉く我が刃となれ）”

Zanpakutou's ability is the ability to receive the opponent's attack with one sword and bounce the attack with the other sword.At that time, it is possible to shift the timing by controlling the speed and power with the tag attached to the chain that connects the swords. Ukitake suffered from pneumonia when he was a child, but his parents dedicated his lung to the right hand of the local god Mimihagi-sama and prayed to prevent it from progressing, and he had survived until now.

The enshrined land god is actually Reiou's right hand, and in The Thousand-Year Blood War Arc, Reiou releases the power of Mimihagi-sama that he harbors in a pinch to help Reiou. However, Ukitake, who had kept him alive by Reiou's right hand, dies. His courage helped Reiou manage to get through the pinch.

During his lifetime, Ukitake asked Kyouraku to transfer the position of captain of the 13th division to which he belongs to Rukia Kuchiki.
